Jonathan Watts: Spending on renewable energy soars in China

Wind turbines were almost unknown in China only five years ago and now they boast the world's largest wind turbine farm. China now installs 36 new wind turbines a day with Jiuguan region alone having 6GW of power generation capacity - roughly equivalent to the whole of the UK.
